Sculpted concrete. A surface with depth.
A wall can carry more than colour. Through sculpted concrete and relief, Shidrah Studio gives surfaces physical depth: a contour that catches light, a recess that holds an object, or a bar that becomes part of the room’s identity.
Material and light belong together
The work is developed at the scale of the space, with attention to how the surface meets adjacent timber, seating, shelving and light. The texture is part of the design, from broad sculpted forms to the quieter marks visible at close range.
Custom work for a particular place
Potential commissions include a feature wall, a sculpted bar front, a niche or a group of related elements. The Hameara photographs show how these details connect within an actual restaurant. They are examples of a material approach, rather than a catalogue of ready-made panels.
What we need to assess the work
Send photographs, approximate dimensions and the location of the proposed element. Explain whether the surface already exists or belongs to a new build, and whether the area is exposed to water, weather or frequent contact. Those conditions inform material and installation decisions.
Agree the scope before making
The proposal needs to account for preparation, access, the extent of the relief and the interfaces with other trades. Finish samples and the intended appearance can be discussed before execution. Suitability, maintenance and any structural requirements should be resolved for the specific location; an image alone cannot establish them.
Before we begin
Is sculpted concrete the same as a flat decorative coating?
The examples here use relief and three-dimensional form. A flat coating and a sculpted element serve different visual purposes; the choice depends on the effect and conditions you need.
Can the work connect to timber and lighting?
The Hameara project demonstrates this combination. The fixing details and lighting interfaces need to be coordinated for each new space.
